Lose Your Mind

Team USA beat Algeria! In the 91st minute Landon Donovan scored to give the US a 1-0 lead and that was enough for them to win the game. Team USA wins Group C and moves on to play another day.

When Donovan scored, I lost my mind. You would've thought I had scored the goal. I was yelling at the top of my lungs, jumping up and down. I think I even did a backflip. I have never celebrated any sports moment the way I had celebrated that goal. I don't think I've ever celebrated anything at all in life the way I celebrated that goal. I had lost my mind and in pure joy and happiness, I went nuts.

And then I said this aloud; "I wish I celebrated the things of God the way I celebrated that goal."

Instant conviction. I had to stop what I was doing and pray for forgiveness. It's not that celebrating the goal and victory was a bad thing. It's just that my excitement for God and the things in doing in my life never gets to a point where I lose my mind and go nuts. And God wants us to go nuts. David was so excited about what God was doing that he got naked and danced in praise before the Lord.

God deserves credit for being awesome. God is way more awesome that Landon Donovan's goal and way more memorable and forever then the USA winning today. He deserves a lose your mind celebration every once in a while. He deserves to celebrated and praised way more then he is.

A Prayer in Spring

Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers today;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.

Oh, gives us pleasure in the orchard white,
Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;
And make us happy in the happy bees,
The swarm dilating round the perfect trees.

And make us happing in the darting bird
Tha suddenly above the bees is heard,
The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill,
And off a blossom in mid-air stands still.

For this is love and nothing else is love,
The which it is reversed for God above
To sanctify to what far ends He will,
But which it only needs that we fulfill.

Thrive

I'm on a weird christian rock kick. LIstening to a lot of Audio Adrenaline, Supertones, Bleach, and All Star United. I finally grabbed the last 3 Audio Adrenaline records and the record All Star United put out last year. The Supertones have been in my car for the last 2 weeks. I'm currently listening to some Newsboys records. It's a little weird.
